Peace Square in Jerusalem to celebrate the World March

Last April, World March organizers and Meir Margalit, councilman of the Meretz´s political party, agreed to build in Jerusalem a square to celebrate the World March. In the center, a six meters "green dome" will protect from the sun and circular seats will allow the place to be a "meeting point". The square will be located between a Jewish and an Arab neighborhoods.

Pressenza Jerusalem, 9/11/09 Last April, WM organizers and Meir Margalit, councilman of Jerusalem of the Meretz´s political party, to build in this city, in a public location between two neighborhoods, Jews and Arab, a square to celebrate the World March.

The design is intended to invite to dialogue. A six meters "green dome" in the center, in order to protect from the sun and circular seats, a friendly place, a "meeting point". The dome is the so-called "Peace Pergola"

Outside the Pergola, trees will be planted and more seats will be available. A stele plate with the name and purpose of the square and the list of people who contributed to its creation.

The square will be built with volunteers from Israel, Palestine and other countries.
